My family were well known tobacco farmers. During the cold months everyone worked C & A mill in order to have money all year long.  Dad was mechanic for police, fire, EMS, sheriff vehicles. He worked all day and all night out of his shop in the back yard to keep those emergency vehicles on the road. Dad’s check was a steady paycheck, but his heart was pure gold. If someone needed help, he gave the shirt off his back or fixed the car for free.  When I graduated from Person High School in Roxboro NC, I was working at TG & Y department store. It was a small town, so it was the best job ever. You got to see everybody all the time. 

My Dad continually embedded in me to pick a career; don’t work until the day you die. No one in my family knew what the word retirement meant. 

He got me a job as a communicator with Roxboro that summer. I wasn’t sure I wanted to work with police. I was young, doing stupid stuff, not getting caught. Dad said, “Try it, if you don’t like it quit,” it has a retirement program. So, I took the job. I didn’t realize how nosy I was. I loved it. 

After 5 years of working in communications, I wanted to get in a patrol car. I applied but Roxboro gave a list of promises. Only one female officer working and promises soon faded away. I would have never made it.  I set my sights for the next city, Durham NC. Got hired and the events of my life began. 

Come join my team of cops from Durham NC. Getting the bad guys is one thing but when its paranormal that’s a totally different story. With all the secrets within the department handling the street was no problem. How do you find true love when you can’t tell your secret?
